Yercaud... Most of my memories are of getting mesmerized by that place. Also known as the Jewel of the South, Yercaud is as enchanting and picturesque as a hill stations can get.

The weather was just perfect for a bike ride. Mostly cloudy with occasional rain. One wont feel the heat at all.
Taking a rain break
But then bikers don't always stop for rains
We faced a bit of traffic at Salem. From the main city we took a turn towards Yercaud. The weather was very wet and cloudy. Riding on a hill in that weather was just awesome. That too we had to encounter 20 hair-pin bends. By the time we reached the top it was already evening and we were totally wet.
Going through the hair-pin bends
We were wet by the time we reached the top, but this was still nothing. Thats when it started to rain heavily. The experience was just amazing. Riding through the clouds, and its raining.

We didnt wanted to return back from that place. But then reality reminded us about our respective office's and gave us a very sad reason to return back.
Well I always feel that riding down a hill is more difficult and thrilling than riding up. Add to that the weather, the visibility was very poor!
We were riding at 20-30kmph most of the time. Still the whole experience was quite sensational.
We stopped here for a break.
This is what we had to cover. Finally we made through all of the 20 hair-pin bends and reached the straight tarred road back to Bangalore.
This was the condition of the riders after riding for the whole day.
As mentioned earlier, weather-wise this was my best trip so far. Thanks for going through this log. Happy touring to all.
Cheers.
Alok
